First death in Australia by Omicron.

A new strain of corona virus has killed one person in Australia for the first time.

 The Australian man died of an Omicron type attack on Monday, local time.  He is in his eighties.  He was already ill.

 The man was infected with the corona virus from a care center for the elderly.  He later died at a hospital in Sydney.  He is a native of New South Wales, Australia.

 New South Wales epidemiologist Christine Selve said in an official video message that the alarming type of corona virus was associated with Omicron.

 For almost two years, restrictions were imposed in Australia to prevent a new outbreak.  Eventually restrictions were lifted from some parts.  Borders were being opened in most parts of Australia to move inland, from one state to another.  Australians began to return from abroad without quarantine conditions.  Outbreaks appear to be exacerbated during this time.
