A source close to Ukraine's Defense Ministry told CNN that Russia had deployed 1,27,000 troops in the region. Even a few days ago the number was low.

The source added that Russia has been building field hospitals and security checkpoints along the border since December 2021. Moreover, a large amount of ammunition has accumulated on the Ukrainian border. Which is all part of the preparation for war.

Russia and Ukraine hold three-point talks to resolve ongoing tensions. But last week it was reported that no results were found in the talks. Only then did the possibility of war escalate.

Ukraine has expressed interest in becoming a member of NATO, the world's largest military alliance. Russia considers the issue a threat. They then prepared to invade Ukraine.

Russia has made it a condition of NATO that it not join Ukraine or any of Russia's neighbors. But NATO did not agree to the proposal.
